cant save embedded files

Help!

When creating a local page on my machine (Windows XP) with
FP2000 (ie no web server involved)I get the following
error message when trying to save some, but not other
embedded files (perhaps files over a certain size):

"An error occurred accessing your FrontPage web files.
Authors-- if authoring against a web server, please
contact the webmaster for the server's site. Webmasters --
please see the server's system log for more details."

So, I have no server, no webmaster, and no system log that
I know how to find at this point, I'm just creating a
local file on my own computer, so I'm finding this error
message less than helpful.

I'd appreciate any clue you might give me as to what is
wrong.

Cheers!
Roger

FrontPage, on some systems, has a problem handling files over 1Mbyte in
size. Files of this size should be moved into the FrontPage website using
Windows Explorer or FTP as appropriate, then in FrontPage use
Tools->Recalculate Hyperlinks to resync the extensions. This problem also
extends to groups of files being imported (or save embedded files) if the
total size of the group is over 1Mbyte.

If any of these files are images, you may have some serious optimisation to
do - 1Mbyte for an image is very big.
