Can't save from Word XP directly to CD

J

John Michaud

When I either retrieve a Word document from a CD, modify
it and try to save it back to the same CD, or trying to
save any other Word document directly to a CD, I get 2
errors. First, a small dialogue entitled Microsoft Word
and the message is, "Incorrect function." After clicking
on ok I get, "You do not have access to the
folder 'D:\'. See your administrator for access to this
folder." I am running Windows XP and have Roxio 6
Platinum installed. I have gone into properties for the
CD burner and there is no permissions tab. Does anyone
know why I can't save directly to a CD? Thanks!

You cannot and should not attempt to save a document to anything other than
a hard disk drive - certainly not any form of removable media. It is the
number 2 way of corrupting your documents. Save to your HDD and then burn it
to CD.
