Can't save PowerPoint 2003 as a Presentation

I

All of a sudden, my PP2003 is defaulting all my Powerpoint files to
open in Viewer instead of just a Presentation. How do I make the
default go back to save as a Presentation instead of Viewer slide
show?
Thanks.

If you are really talking about 2003, then you landed in the wrong group.
This is the Mac group. You might try microsoft.public.powerpoint for PC
advice.

If you have the wrong version, and you are on a Mac, right-click (or
control-click) on a PowerPoint file and choose Get Info. From there you can
set the PowerPoint application to be the one to open it, and I believe you
can check it as the default.

If you are on a PC, you can right-click and choose Open With. Choose Other.
Navigate to the PowerPnt.exe file and click the box for Always Open With.

Are you sure the files are opening in the Viewer and not just in Show mode?
Are they .ppt or .pps files. If you are saving them as .pps, you can change
that back to .ppt. Also, your default file format might have gotten changed
so check that when in PowerPoint and doing a Save As.

If all else fails, you can always open PowerPoint first and then open your
files with File > Open.
