Can't save to a mapped network drive

New pc running XP Pro w/ SP2. Office 2003 w/ SP2. SBS 2003 controlling the
domain.

I can save any document to the local hard drive with no problem, but if I
try to save to a network share on the server with either Word or Excel; the
app stops responding and I can't even use Task Manager to kill the process.

I know it isn't a rights issue on the share because it happens even when I'm
logged in as the domain admin.

Ideas?
