Can't save workbook

Mike Iacovou

Hi.

I have an excel workbook this many combo boxes etc, most cells cross-referencing each other etc.
I had to add an extra few lines (repeating pattern of cells etc), and now the workbook can't be saved.
This was a long winded process, and there are no intermediate save points.
When i choose to save the workbook, excel CPU useage goes from 4% -> 100% on a 512Mb RAM 2.2GHz system (the workbook is around 1.5 Mb) and occupies upto 40Mb RAM with enough resource to space.
The program hangs... then ultimately produces an unhelpful "File not saved".
Any ideas? Got this thing open and no means of saving !

TIA

Mike,

Due to various reasons which can take a lot of text to explain, your workbook may have an internal problem. Usually when this happens, I would suggest exporting each worksheet, form, and code module that may be in this workbook and then pull these components into a new workbook. Once this is done, you can continue your work in the new workbook and forget about the one with the problem.
