Hi, Carver.
I agree fully with Ken: Microsoft really goofed - AGAIN!! - by choosing the
name "Outlook.com" for their roll-up of several prior email domain names.
They changed my account, for example, from "(e-mail address removed)" to
"(e-mail address removed)"! Why? They tried to explain that my previous
@msn.com and @Hotmail.com addresses - and several other possible
variations - all actually resolved to "(e-mail address removed)", and that they are
now retiring the "Live" name, which they worked so hard for several years to
promote.
Doesn't make sense to me, but that's Microsoft's explanation for why all the
former Hotmail, @msn.com, @live.com (and other) addresses are now
@outlook.com addresses.
Bottom line: As Ken said, "outlook.com" is a mail server (formerly known as
live.com or msn.com or others), NOT related to Microsoft Outlook, the
application that handles contacts and other functions, including email - but
NOT newsgroups. :>(

I amstill stumbling around trying to get to use Outlook (I do not know
he version) on my Windows 7 64-bit desktop after my email was
automatically converted form Hotmail to Outlook. I cannot find HELP in
order to find the version, and cannot find "More Options." I will try to
attach a screenshot (below) showing those items missing.
