Can't see how to set default view

I can't seem to find where you set the default view, that
is the view that new documents open in. Right now it's
opening new documents in Page Layout view; I want them to
open in Normal view. I looked at Preferences>View and
couldn't find a setting. Can help? Thanx,

Word should open the file in the view in which it was last saved.
Make sure you've updated to 10.1.5 - early versions had a bug in
which it didn't work consistently. I don't know that it's been
completely solved, but in informal testing, it works every time for
me now.

Note that it's the last view *saved* - if you just open the file,
change the view, Word won't save the file. To force Word to save,
add a character and then delete it.
