Can't see logos

When I receive a document from another individual including a logo on it my
system turns it into a big capital A and there isn’t a logo. Is there
something that needs to be loaded into my system to allow me the logo?

Sounds like the logo is in a custom font. You haven't got the font, so
another font is substituted which has letters in place of this logo. You
either need that font installed on your PC, or he will need to embed the font
in the document (Embed truetype fonts on the Save tab in tools>options)
