can't see pictures

This one's probably easy. When I try to see pictures I've
copied to my MS Word program, I get a message like this:

{Include picture "http://dhfsghjlsdgflglfghla"\*
MERGEFORMATINET}

I can right click and choose Toggle Field Codes to open
the picture.

What does this mean and what can I do about it?

Try Tools>Options>View>Show and uncheck field codes.
