Can't See Word Files on a CD

On a friend's computer(xp os)I saved files to a folder on
a cd and verified them after I finished, but when I
brought the cd home and placed it in my pc(xp os) there
was no folder or files showing on it. Why don't the
folder and files show?

If the files were saved directly from Word or copied directly from Explorer
using DirectCD or the like, then you won't be able to read the CD unless you
have the same software. They have to have been copied using CD mastering
software (such as Easy CD Creator) in order to be universally readable on
any machine.
