Can't seem to save workbooks after adding tabs or editing tab names

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Power PC

Well, the subject pretty much says it: after adding (multiple) tabs to my worksheet (one table), Excel 2008 won't let me save my workbook anymore. The same happens when I edit the tab name.

The problem was "solved" after I saved the sheet in compatibility mode, but this shouldn't be normal behaviour.
