Entourage 2008 will not enter the correct email address when I have multiple email addresses for a contact and try to select an address other than the default address. This happens for any contact having multiple email addresses when I open a new email and try to select an non-default email address from the window that opens showing my Contacts list. This problem started as soon as I upgraded to Office 2008 from Office 2004.

For example, assume I have 3 email address for Bob: (e-mail address removed), (e-mail address removed), and (e-mail address removed). I want to email Bob. I click the New Email Message icon on the Entourage top toolbar. A new email opens, along with window showing an abbreviated view of my Address Book (names and default email address). I click Bob and his default email address, (e.g., his work email address) shows in the "To" field. I want to send him an email to his home email address. I click on the default work address that Entourage already entered in the "To" field, and Entourage shows me the other email addresses. I then select the home email address. In the past, with Office 2004, Entourage properly enters the other email address in the "To" field.

Now, however, a different email address of that person is entered. For example, if (e-mail address removed) is the default address, I click it, it enters in the "To" field. I click it again, see the other 2 email addresses for Bob, and select (e-mail address removed). Entourage 2008 enters not that address, but (e-mail address removed). If I select (e-mail address removed), Entourage enters (e-mail address removed). If I select (e-mail address removed), Entourage enters (e-mail address removed). And so forth for all contacts having multiple

This does not happen if I start by typing Bob's name in the "To" field instead of using point and click to select from the contact list. When I proceed this way, by typing "Bob" in the "To" field, I see all his email addresses and can select whichever I choose, and Entourage enters the correct email address.

Again, this happened as soon as I upgraded to Office 2008 from Office 2004, and happens with all entries in my Address Book having multiple email addresses. I did not uninstall Office 2004.

I am unable to repro this problem.

When you "click on the default work address that Entourage has already
entered into the To: field," where exactly are you clicking and what do
you see? Do you double-click on the To field, so that the contact record
opens? Do you Control-click? Where do the additional addresses appear?
In a popup? In a contact window? For me, if I single click the To field
nothing happens. If I double-click the contact opens, and I can click on
any of the contact's addresses, and it (the one I click on) appears in
the To field.

I apologize for my lack of precision. I think you correctly determined what I do: " If I double-click the contact opens, and I can click on any of the contact's addresses, and it (the one I click on) appears in the To field." This is where I start to have problems. Entourage enters a different email address, not the one I selected to replace the default address. Clicking Address 2 adds Address 3, and vice versa.

I want to email Bob. I click the New Email Message icon on the Entourage top
toolbar. A new email opens, along with window showing an abbreviated view of
my Address Book (names and default email address).

Try turning off the preview of the Address Book. Click on the book icon.

Start typing Bob (usually just bo will bring up the list) and Entourage will
show a popup showing all the bobs in your Address Book. For those that have
multiple addresses, you will see an arrow indicating other addresses. When
you select the name you can view the other addresses to select.

This is quicker for me than using the little Address Book.
