can't select Excel for importing or exporting

Using Access97 (MS Office Pro Ed w/SP2) to import Excel 97
spreadsheets. One PCs is a problem. When you try to
import (File>GetExternalDB)MS Access and ODBC DB are only
options. Can't import Excel. If you try to export a
table to a spreadsheet (File>Save/Export>ExternalFile)
Excel does not come up as an available option.
Uninstalled/reinstall Office97 made no change. Same
software used on all 4 PCs. The other 3 have no problem
importing and exporting Access/Excel.

Any ideas???

for someone else's problem and it fixed mine!
