Can't select font in Signature (greyed out)

I have a client who is using Outlook 2000 SR-1. When she goes into Signature
Picker and trys to edit an existing signature or add a new one, the font and
paragraph buttons are greyed out. I looked at what had been installed
originally and everything for Outlook is there. Any ideas about what's
causing this/what to do to fix it?
