I use Outlook XP to access my company e-mail (Exchange
Server) via dial-up (PPP) networking, and all works well
(albeit slow). Recently, my company supports connection to
it's network via a "Lucent IPSEC" software tunnel through
my DSL connection.
Whenever I attempt to open Outlook, I keep getting "choose
a connection" option boxes showing my modem (PPP)
connection and my DSL connection. If I "ignore" these
messages (that pop up multiple times), I can access my e-
mail for reading and downloading file attachments.
However, I cannot send any outgoing messages - it
will "hang" about 90 seconds, and then I get a "Network
Problems are preventing communication with the server" (or
something similar), and the message is never sent. If I
try to save the message I had been trying to send in
the "draft" folder, I get the same error.
I've been through the screens/menus, but I don't see any
option for a "use active LAN connection" for my Outlook XP
profile. How can I get Outlook to "route outgoing
messages" over my VPN tunnel?
