Can't send email in outlook 2003

Hooch

Problem: I can receive but not send mail through outlook. the account has
been set up for over a year and worked just fine until about two weeks ago
when I tried to send an email to (e-mail address removed). Then it stopped sending.
Played with the parameters and all of a sudden it started working again. Now
yesterday I tried to send a different message to (e-mail address removed) and it quit
again and I can't get it back. I don't know if that address has any effect
upon it or not.

Tried: Disabling firewall, antivirus. Booting to safe mode. redid all the
parameters. Ran a repair on office. enabled logging:

2006.07.10 10:41:04 SMTP (authsmtp.netzero.net): Authorized to host
2006.07.10 10:41:04 SMTP (authsmtp.netzero.net): Connected to host

2006.07.10 10:41:04 SMTP (authsmtp.netzero.net): <rx> 354 Enter mail, end
with "." on a line by itself
2006.07.10 10:41:04 SMTP (authsmtp.netzero.net): [tx]
..
2006.07.10 10:41:05 SMTP (authsmtp.netzero.net): <rx> 552 Attention! You
are currently not logged on. Please log into our network to send e-mail

I also tried using Outlook Express with the same results.
I can telnet into the server OK.
I can go to my laptop and it works just fine.

Anybody got any Ideas on how to fix this without a hammer?

Thanks

The first thing to do is contact Netzero to see if your port setting is
correct. Then see if you need to log into the POP server priot to the SMTP
server (the "Log on to incoming mail server before sending mail" radio
button on the Outgoing Server tab of your account properties pages).

Well thanks for the reply but if the port setting was wrong, then why does
it work on my laptop? And I did try the logon to incoming server before
sending and that didn't do anything either.

Still looking for sugestions

Obviously you have some setting difference between your laptop and your
other system. FInd that difference and you'll probably fix the problem.
