Can't send email via Outlook

I hope someone has some insight on this. I suddenly lost
the ability to send email via OUTLOOK. I can recieve,
but not send. When I try to send, I get an error message:

Your message did not reach some or all of the intended
recipients.

This is happening on both my systems. I am running Win
XP and it's Outlook 2002. I think it may have begun
after the last Windows upgrade, but I'm not sure.
Interestingly, I can still send via NETSCAPE mail.

I have contacted my ISP to see if any changes have been
made at that end. However, with NETSCAPE working, I tend
to think it's an OUTLOOK/Windows/Microsoft issue.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Steve, I have been having similar problems with office
2000, mainly that nothing will go from my outbox (incoming
mail is fine) I get error message0x800xxx0f ie connection
unexpectedly terminated by the server. The ISP are adamant
that this is not their problem and say they have checked
their end several times.

I have tried to download the Outlook upgrades but the link
doesn't seem to be working. The downloads are
from 'microsoft office update' if you think it's worth a
try.
I have spent over 50 hours on this problem plus a windows
corruption I had ( and this after a £300 visit from
comp.engineers) and still I'm no further forward!
Good luck with yours.

I, too, am having a problem with sending outgoing mail.
I've seen a few posts about this problem. This just
happened to me yesterday (or perhaps the day before).

I've checked with my ISP - no problems there. I am using
XP, Outlook Express, and Norton Anti-virus.

My error message is different though. "An unknown error
has occurred. Subject 'Test', Account: '(deleted for
privacy)', Server: 'smtp.comcast.net', Protocol: SMTP,
Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0B"

Any help would be appreciated
Thanks!
Tim M.

This indicates you're not properly authenticating to your ISP's outgoing
server.

Go to the "Outgoing Server" tab for your account, check that your server
requires authentication, and select the "log into incoming server before
sending" option.
