can't send excel 2002 worksheet as part of message body

I am unable to do the file menu's "send the current sheet as the message
body" function in my 2002 excel version.

The error message I get is "Excel could not start the email prorgram...Check
your network connection. Make sure Office is installed correctly, your email
program is setup correctly, and you can connect to your email server."

I have reinstalled Office XP several times and done the "repair"
function...all to no avail.

When I use the file function's "send as an attachment", it works just fine.

Any recommendations?
