Can't send in outlook 2007

[rtclac]

first I could not send an email- it stays in outbox and will not sned. now
can not send or receive- all was working fine this morning and then stopped-
no changes were made. I checked with isp and the problem is not in email
account settings so it is something wrong with outlook. running on pc with xp
pro.
When I click on send and recieve is just sits there and says "preparing to
send/receive"

any help

and should I just uninstall and then reinstall???- don't want to lose
contacts or emails

Check your third party add-ins especially any AV or firewall integration
with Outlook should be disabled. You may want to try starting Outlook in
Safe Mode (all add-ins disabled) and then enable them one by one, starting
and stopping OUtlook each time until you find the errant add-in.
