Cant send large emails

It seems that I am having the same problem that others are having. Here it goes.

I am using Outlook 2002. Have MS XP Home. Problem that
I'm having is when I send a file 1MB or larger it will
hang on Outbox for a long time and the sending %
flucuates. Then the error box shows up displaying the
following:

Task 'pop.sbcglobal.yahoo.com - Sending' reported error
(0x8004210B) : 'The operation timed out waiting for a
response from the sending (SMTP) server. If you continue
to receive this message, contact your server
administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).'

Also get:

Task 'pop.sbcglobal.yahoo.com - Sending and Receiving'
reported error (0x800CCC0B) : 'Unknown Error 0x800CCC0B'

Sometimes the email will get sent, but it will send
multiple times and keep trying until I cancel the outbox
status.

I do have McAfee antivirus and have tried disabling it to
see if would make any difference.

Can send from my web emial without any problem and can
send smaller emails without any problems.

I contacted my ISP and they could not help, is there
someone that may have this knowledge to share????
