Can't send Outlook message using Comcast

D

Donna

I am currently using Outlook 2007 for work email, and often work from home
through my Comcast internet connection.

About a week ago Comcast blocked outgoing email server 25 and sent
instructions to use server 587. I've tried updating my settings and even
called their tech support, but I still can't send Outlook message (I can
receive messages). Comcast's reply was that they don't support Outlook, and
I needed to check with Microsoft to help fix the problem.

Outlook works just fine from my office, where I connect through a Qwest
broadband connection.

Help?

This may have been caused by a microsoft update (sent first Tuesday o
every month). Try System Restore to go back before update. Have ha
this problem last month and again today (with Outlook 2003 not Outloo
Express). Does anyone know if there is a workaround or patch? - hate t
leave computer without critical updates. Also got the line from Comcas
support about not supporting Outlook - they knew NOTHING! Changin
ports did not solve the problem

Make sure that My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication is checked.
The SPA option should *not* be checked (at least as far as I can tell).
