Can't send/receive email--Outlook 2000

Hello. I'm having some severe problems with Outlook. I've
had no problems using it at all until 2 days ago where it
suddenly stopped working. I tried to "send/receive" mail
and got an error stating the email server could not be
contacted. I have 2 email addresses with the same server,
only my other one is set up with Netscape. I have Windows
XP so both email addresses are set up separately on 2
different profiles. This one email address in particular I
cannot get to work regardless of which profile I use to
sign into Windows with. The ISP had me reset my cable modem
and router (both individually and then together) to no
avail. My other email address is just fine and I'm able to
use the "webmail" feature to get access into the problem
email account online, so it's not a server problem. I have
tried to even follow the steps for uninstalling and
reinstalling Outlook, and even used the detect and repair
feature in Help to no avail. Now I'm also getting Runtime
errors "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Program:
F:program Files/Microsoft Office/Office/OUTLOOK.EXE This
application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an
unusual way. Please contact the application's support team
for more information." I've had no problems until suddenly
when I started up my computer in the morning and couldn't
send or receive email. Can anyone please shed some light on
this problem or advise me what I can do? The uninstall
didn't really seem to work since my account was still set
up and all of the Outlook files and shortcuts remained. Did
I do something wrong with the uninstall/reinstall or is
there another reason for this? I would appreciate any
responses at all to help me with this problem. Thank you.

I have just posted a similar problem. Would love to hear
if you receive a solution. Here is my private email:

Thanks,

I believe I have solved my similar
problem by forwarding my email to my Juno account rather
than setting Yahoo up as an email account in Outlook.
That way there is only one email account in Outlook which
receives and sends. We shall see.

I think I may have confused you about this. I only have one
email account with Outlook. I have 2 email addresses with
the same ISP, but as I explained, 1 is set up with Outlook
and the other is with Netscape. Since I only do have one
email address set up with Outlook, your suggestion isn't
relevant for me. Sorry if I confused you!

I am experiencing, almost verbatim, the same behavior
that you are. I used XP's "copy settings" feature (you
have to get this one off the XP disk -- it's not loaded
during the installation of windows) to move everything on
one laptop (using MS Outlook 2002 SP3.) to a new laptop
(using MS Outlook 2002 SP3.). Immediately, I experienced
this problem.

The only thing I've found is an MS Knowledgebase article
#302357(http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?
scid=kb;en-us;302357&Product=ol2002), which describes
this behavior, and points the finger at MSN Explorer.

In my case, it turns out MSN Explorer was loaded on my
new laptop, and although I've uninstalled it, the problem
is not resolved - I still get the mail error in Outlook.
But maybe this'll shake a few bananas off the tree for
your problem at least..

I don't have MSN anything on my computer so I know that's
not the case with mine. This just happened suddenly and NO
changes to my computer has been made whatsoever (they
always try to point the finger at you---saying you
installed something new whether it be hardware or software
and they try to blame that as the cause for everything).
I'm still having the same problem and now encountered
ANOTHER Runtime error problem. So far no one's responded
with any answers. <:(
