can't send/receive

just installed outlook 2003, trying to use earthlink.net,
can't send/receive. Get message


Task '(e-mail address removed) Mail Account - Sending'
reported error (0x8004010F) : 'The operation failed. An
object could not be found.'

probably a silly mistake, please help
