Can't send to distribution lists

I am trying to send emails to two seperate distrobution lists using two
seperate emails with one list in each email. I do this to get around my smtp
server recipient limits. I have between 120 - 150 contacts per list.

When I try to send an email to either one of the lists, I get a message that
says "an internal support funciton has returned an error." I use outlook
express to import new addresses from an excel spreadsheet and add the new
addresses to the lists, then I use Outlook to import the addresses and lists
from Outlook express.

I have been told that there is a limit on the number of contacts per
distribution list, but this seems unreasonable because when I export the list
to the boss's laptop, she is able to use Outlook send them to the
distribution lists, but the desktop can't.

PLEEEEASE help me. I have looked everywhere that I know where to look and
tried everything that I know to try but to no avail.

You did what?
Explain the rationale of importing a CSV into OE, then importing form OE to
Outlook. You cannot transfer groups from OE to DL's in Outlook.
Create your DL in Outlook using the correct methods that are well documented
in Help files or the KB.

I am in the process of transfering my primary email frunctions from OE to MS
Outlook. This is the reason that I am starting from OE. Once I get MS
Outlook working properly, then IT will be my primary email client.

I do not import addresses into my Outlook DL's. Right now, the WAB is my
master address book because OE is the program that will do what I need it to
do (i.e email to my group lists). I add the new addresses into the WAB and
then empty all contacts from MS Outlook and import everything. The reason
that I delete all contacts is so that the Outlook Contacts list will be
exactly the same as the WAB. If I did not delete all contacts first, then
the addresses that I delete in WAB would still be listed in MS outlook.

This process has worked when I transfer them to the Laptop, but not the
desktop which is running the same version of MS outlook. I know that they
will transfer because when I transfer them from OE to Outlook on the laptop,
it converts the groups into DL's and lets me use them to email, but the
desktop won't let me email the DL's. What might be keeping the desktop
from doing this?

If the address and groups will not import, then why does outlook have menu
item to import them from OE?

I am trying to keep from wading through the 800 addresses on the boss's
computer to find the 300 that I need for the DL's. OInce I get this working
right, then I will probably import the CSV straight into Outlook.

I hope this clarifies my reasoning.

It has never been possible to import OE's groups into Outlook reliably. They
do not survive in most versions. You can only import addresses reliably.

I wasn't asking why you were importing from OE into Outlook. I was asking
why you were using a CSV file as the intermediary instead of just importing
directly. You must have just misstated what you were doing.

Sorry Russ, I guess I missed that step in the original post. I am harvesting
the addresses from a secure database that is posted on the web for our
business associates. We have about 50 new business associates added each
month. I cut and paste the addresses and emails into excel, but in order to
import the email addresses from WAB, they must be converted to CSV first.
Since Outlook will import from Excel, I will be able to skip this step.

Thanks for your help. If they won't import reliably, I will just have to
spend the time to set them up in MS outlook. I was just trying to save some
time if I could.

Just check your versions. Outlook 2003 is able to import groups from the
current version of OE. Not sure how long that will last, unfortunately.
