can't send to my distribution list

When i create a distribution list and save it, it appears in my global
address book, but when i try to send to it i get a msg saying it the Outlook
can't recognize it.

What are thje steps for creating and saving a distribution list and then
sending an email to one.

I have another pc that has a personal contacts forlder in Outlook and the
dist. lists are saved there and that pc works fine. I have even emailed the
dist. list from the working one to the not working one and still get the same
error.

HELP!!!
