Can't set up Outlook

D Wilson

When I try to set up Outlook I get a message (paraphrased) that says, "can't
find server. Setting up welcome message," (probably not in that order). I
just can't set it up so am using OE. Can anyone help?

Paraphrased error messages aren't very useful, please post the entire
message.

Sorry, Hal, of course they're not. Here goes: Start, Programs, Office, I
click on Outlook. Small window comes up saying: "Configuring Outlook
Accounts." Under that: "Creating Welcome
Message." Error message comes up: "The connection to Microsoft Server is
Unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action."
I clicked OK. Another window: "Microsoft Exchange Server." Within this
window: I'D.'s my computer and I.D.'s my name. I click "check name."
Another window: "Once names have been checked and are underlined click OK."
Clicked OK. Last window: "The name could not be resolved. The connection
to the Microsoft Exchange server is unavailable. Outlook must be online or
connected to complete this action." Hal, this is Microsoft Office
Professional 2003 and I just installed it. I did replace my older version of
Office XP (uninstalled it) and I never used Outlook; instead, I used Outlook
Express. I have no idea whether or not Outlook worked properly on Office XP
or not. Thank you for your help.

You were answered in another newsgroup. Please don't multipost.
