Can't start Mail Merge

After upgrading from Works to Office 2000, Word no longer
allows me to start Mail Merge. It is no longer active
(grayed out) in the Tools menu. I have tried uninstalling
Office and Works and reinstalling Office, but the result
is the same. It appears to be the same old scaled down
version of Word from Works, even though I am installing
the Office 2000 SBE. How can I fix this?

Not sure, but I would try a few things, including
a. asking in a Works group
b. re-register Word (see
