Can't stop Microsoft Update on Office XP Pro

While assisting a club member with her computer, I turned on Microsoft
Upate. Service Pack 2 was offered. It then asked for the installation disk.
She says that the computer builder (local) didn't give her an installation
disk. The builder is now out of business.

HOw to stop!

If the person belongs to the club there must be others who have the same version of
Office on a disk. Borrow it for the time it takes to finish the update

At some stage the disk will be required, or could this be the PC that never
fails?
Give the club member a copy of the same version, presumably you can find the
key on the installed PC.
