Can't stop modem from dialing. Help!

Patrice

I modified a powerpoint presentation developed by someone
else to create my own. Whenever I open the presentation my
laptop computer attempts to access the Internet using my
dial up service. I have to click cancel several times to
stop this. In the meantime the presentation won't open.
Finally after several cancels, the computer stops trying
to access the Internet and lets me open the presentation.
I've closed all links that were in the presentation, but
don't know how to get rid of this Internet access
behavior. Any suggestions?

Somewhere within the presentation there is probably an image that was copied
from a website and it contained some link information. When you open the
presentation PowerPoint is trying to re-establish the link. You might try
the trial version of FixLinks Pro and see whether it identifies where the
link is. You can find it at http://www.rdpslides.com/pptools/FAQ00035.htm.
