Can't Sync Entourage2004 with Palm m515

When I try to sync with my m515, it starts the sync but then crashed my
system (i.e. locks up and the OS tells me I need to reboot). I'm using OSX
10.3.5, Palm Desktop 4.1, and PalmOS 4.1.2. I then tried to use the
handheld sync installer for entourage X and that doesn¹t seem to work
either. The install always fails reporting "The installation failed because
Microsoft Component Plugin was not found." I'm no longer able to sync as I
used to so any other options out there would be appreciated.

Doug,

I just went through a similar issue with my m515. You might have better luck
if you make sure you use the version of Handheld Sync that came with Office
2004 instead of the downloadable one that was intended for Office 2001.
Also, you might try installing Palm Desktop 4.2.1 instead. Don't forget that
although the Handheld Sync installer reports that it will move/disable the
necessary conduits, this is a lie --- you have to do that manually after the
installation.

I upgraded to 4.2.1 but that didn't help I still experienced crashes. I
also verified that the Entourage X conduit was installed despite the error
report generated. Finally, I pulled out several other conduits and
eventually, the crashes ceased and it now appears to be worked properly
again. Thanks.

My system is crashing again when I try to sync Entourage 2004 with my Palm
m515. I'm now on OS X 10.3.6, Palm Desktop 4.2.1, and PalmOS 4.1.2. I had
an office 2004 update last night and now sync doesn't work. ?????

I continue to experience problems with the Microsoft Handheld Sync for
Entourage X Installer which won't install the new conduit, etc. and fails
with an error message stating "Microsoft Component Plugin was not found".
Is there anyway to get the actual components contained in the installer so
that I can do a manual install? According to the read me, there should be
only 3 components including

Handheld Sync Read Me.html
Microsoft Entourage Conduit
Microsoft Synchronization

I don't find the version of Handheld Sync with my copy of Office 2004. Any
ideas on how to fix this or at least where to get the MS HH Sync for
Entourage X (other than the MS download site), would be appreciated.

I found the Entourage 2004 Handheld sync in Office 2004. The download copy
also works IF you put it into the "Microsoft office 2004/additional tools"
folder. Nice if MS would tell you that on the read-me page.

Unfortunately, even after confirming the new conduit is installed in the
right place, HOTSYNC STILL LOCKS UP MY MACHINE. Any other ideas? Thanks.
