I have English Windows XP with Japanese selected for non-unicode programs, as
I have certain Japanese software that will not work without it. The subject
line in Outlook similarly won't show Japanese without it.
I have Office XP English version installed and everything works fine except
Access. I can't turn Japanese off. Every time my cursor enters a new field,
the language bar goes back to Japanese IME with hiragana enabled. Turning it
off only works while I am typing in that field. The Office XP Language
Settings program is completely unresponsive for any part of the Office Suite.
Even if I disable Japanese, it's fully functional in Office and the Access
problem doesn't go away.
There is no way I want to disable my other Japanese software just to clear
up an annoying Access glitch. Is there something out there, such as a
registry hack, that will allow me to enter English in Access without having
to disable the IME every time I type?
