Can't turn off Style auto-update

Platform : Word2002 with SP2 on Win2000

If I :
* create a new document
* add some lines of text (style "normal")
* add a bullet
... I get the whole document buletted and the Normal style updated.

What I did try and didn' help:
* turn off the "Automatically update" check box for the Normal style (with option "Add to template" checked)
* edit Normal.dot directly with file-open and save
* delete all Normal.dot files
* turn off all "Autoformat as you type" options
* reinstall WinWord
* install SP1 + SP2

Is it possible, at least, to reset all the settings that could cause this (delete all config files, for eg.) ?

thanks,
Leo Puskaric

PS:
* I had a Word2000 on my PC before (I uninstalled it before installing Word2002)
* I have a RoboHelp help-compiler installed and hooked on Winword - but it worked fine at the beginning

Hi Leo,

You should first rule out your RoboHelp help-compiler and any other
add-ins you have installed. It sounds like one of them is modifying
your Normal style and setting it to Automatically update.

If you do not know how to check for global templates/add-ins: go to
Tools/Templates and Add-ins and see if there are any in the list.
Those found will either be in your Office\Startup folder or Word
Startup folder. The Office\Startup folder is located in the
installation path (or profile depending on how Office was installed)
and the location of the Word Startup folder can be obtained under
Tools/Options/File Locations.
