Can't turn off Track Changes

I am running Word in Office XP Pro. I have discovered that I don't seem to
be able to turn off the track changes function.

This is distressing, because Monster.com won't let you post a resume unless
you have turned off track changes.

All help will be appreciated.

Happy New Year!

How are you trying to turn off Track Changes? Note that merely turning it
off is not enough; you must also accept all the changes.

Thanks, but sorry, Suzanne, I tried everything on the visible menu. The
"unprotect" command is not visible. When I click on the Track Changes icon
nothing happens. I tried saving as another document, and that didn't help.
When I go into "properties" the "archive" box is grayed out and clicked.

Any new documents I create have the same problem.

I just recently transferred thisi software from one computer to another, but
I followed all the registration procedures.

I really appreciate any help you can offer.

One more thing I tried was going into "protect document" menu. Once I
clicked the "forms" button, the "unprotect" choice was in the menu again.
However, Monster.com says the document is still in "proctected" form.

I really appreciate any help you can offer.

Protection and change tracking are almost entirely unrelated issues. You can
protect a document for revisions (tracked changes), and it would appear that
you may have done this, but this has nothing to do with turning Track
Changes on or off. Is the document also protected for forms or with a
password to open or modify?
