Can't turn on Spell Checker

I have Microsoft X for Mac and for some reason I can not turn the
spell check on. When I go to the Word tab and preferences, I am unable
to Click on Spelling and Grammer as it is not highlighted. Can anyone
help me with this? I need to have spell check and grammar check
operationa. It works fine on my ibook, just not on my new imac. it is
teh only item that I can not click on under Preferences.

By the way, that preference doesn't turn on spellcheck anyhow. You
might also read #1 on that page if your spellcheck is not working after
you fix the preferences.
