Can't unhide leftmost columns

If I insert a column to the left of 'Task Name', then
close it by dragging the divider to the left with the
mouse cursor, I can not get it to reappear. Every time I
put the cursor up near the divider and pull to the right,
the ID number column just gets wider. If I select all
columns and choose 'unhide' the hidden columns stay
hidden. I'm running Windows 2000 Pro with Project 2002.

Any suggestions?

Thanks. That was exactly what I needed. I figured there
was some way to edit it, but I could not find it.
