Can't uninstall Home and Student 2007 nor activate

I downloaded a trial version of Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007. I
bought the disk and tried to use that product key to convert the trial, the
product key was accepted but then I received an error message that the
installation would not complete. I receive a similar message if I try to
uninstall the trial (uninstall would not complete). So I cannot convert my
trial, nor uninstall it and am at a loss of what to do next.

You should have uninstalled the trial, then rebooted, before installing from
your CD, you'll now have to use this

Thanks. I thought I could just activate the trial, but I was unable to. I
found the page you referred me to after I posted my question.
