Can't uninstall Office 2007 BTR2

E

Eric

Hello,

I am trying to install the newest release of Office 2007, having the Beta
Technical Refresh already installed on my computer. When I try and uninstall
the software through add/remove programs, it tells me that the installation
is corrupt and I must reinstall.

When I try and reinstall the beta software, I get the following error
message: Error 2711. An internal error has occurred.
(OSetupontrollerIntl_1033 ).

Yay! This software is on my computer, and I can't do anything with it!

.... Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks!

Hi Jerald,

See if locating and renaming the file OPA12.dat, then restarting the PC then activating Office 2007 Trial edition helps.

Hi Eric,

There are several reasons for Error 2711, including mismatched versions of Office installed, a damaged Office 2007 download or a
registry issue.

You may need to use the steps in this article and the one it links to remove the older pre-release Office software:
