Can't uninstall Office '97 Pro from NT 4.0

I tried to uninstall through the control panel, inserted the office '97 pro
cd and unchecked all of the components so it would remove them. It took the
office '97 pro name off the list of installed programs. I rebooted and all
the apps are still there. Word, etc... still runs , no hard drive space was
made available. This is an old tool in our Lab and is not on a network and I
need to uninstall Powerpoint, Word, Excel, etc... to free up much needed hard
drive space.
