This might be redundant to this NG -
I was successful in creating an Admin Install Point with
Office 2003. I created .mst files AND successfully
deployed it using Group Policy.
However, when I used the following syntax to update the
installation files with SP1 I was unsuccessful -
msiexec.exe /p <PATH>\MAINSP1ff.msp /a
<PATH>\pro11.msi /qb /lv* f:\SP1.log
The exact message I got was "A valid Product Key must be
set to create an Admin image."
I know that there is a valid Product Key. No users were
prompted for the install key; it was in the .mst files,
but it is also sitting there in the .inf file on my
installation point.
Also, I successfully used this exact method for doing the
same thing with Office 2000 SP3.
Hopefully someone will soon have an answer for this.
By the way, is there anyone out there from the "silent
majority" who has had success doing this particular task?
Thanks.
