Can't update data in table

I have a table that decided to be "un-editable." I cannot change any data in
datasheet view. The computer just beeps and one of those prohibited signs
(circle w/a diagonal line) appears in the far left of the row. I had this
happen earlier to another table and I corrected it by making one of the
fields a primary key, but that hasn't worked in this situation.

I really don't know what's causing it. Any help?

Thanks in advance.

Unless you have implemented Access security, or attached some tables from
other data sources that cause it to be read only, this sounds like a
corruption.

1. Uncheck the boxes under:
Tools | Options | General | Name AutoCorrect

2. Then compact and repair the database:
Tools | Database Utilities | Compact/Repair.

3. If that does not solve the problem, get Access to rebuild your database
for you, by following the steps for the first symptom in:
Recovering from Corruption

Allen, you reduced my stress level again! I got a little nervous when I saw
that the Name AutoCorrect wasn't checked to begin with, but the compact and
repair seemed to have done the trick. I have my database set to compact on
close, but I guess I learned that's not the same as compact and repair.

Thanks again. Good to know you are out there.
