Can't update Filtered record

D

Dennis

In Access2003, I have a form bound directly to a single table. The form is
tabbed, but the subform on the other tab isn't bound to the same table, nor
are the tables related right now (parent/child). When I FILTER the main form
by looking up a person (by name, SSN, etc), I cannot make changes to that
record. I get an error message:

This record has been changed by another user since you started editing it.
If you save the record, you will overwrite the changes the other user made.
Copying the changes to the Clipboard will let you look at the values the
other users entered, and then paste your changes back in if you decide to
make changes."

Then 3 buttions:

(Save Record) (Copy to Clipboard) (Drop Changes)

First, no one else is changing the record. Second, if I click the SAVE
CHANGES button, it just loops over and over again to the same error. I have
to DROP CHANGES in order get past it. However, if I pull the record up
WITHOUT filtering, I can change anything I want to.

I have NO IDEA what's going on here, and would welcome some ideas.

Thanks!
