Can't update office professional 2003. Can't even deinstall office

When i tried to update office 2003 from the web, i get an error msg saying it
can't look for updates on this computer. I even tried to reinstall or
deinstall office completely but then i get the msg 'This patch package could
not be opened. Verify that the patch package exists and that you can access
it'.

I have official office cd's and product codes. Does anyone have a clue to
fix this?

I am having a different problem. I am trying to install the service pack 3
for Office Xp Pro and it keeps asing me for the Office Small Business
edition, which I don't even have. I downloaded the "Fullfile" update, and it
still asks me for it. Help!!!
