Can't update Office XPSP3

Office XP, SP3 using IE 6 and WinXPSP2 and all other updates.
I can get to the Windows office update page without problem, but
Office update page freezes repeatable each time I attempt to access
it, and give a message on not responding after c-a-d.
Fix?
