can't update public free/busy data

have Vlaned a group of PCs and they get message can't
update public free/busy data. They also get requesting
data from server. Users on Vlan with exchange 5.5 server
don't get either message. All users are using Office XP
with most updated patches

Any help would be greatly appreciated
