Can't use "File" and "Tools commands in Word

In Word- if I try to click on thr "File" or "Tools" command I get a message
that winword.exe has detected errors and will close. You need to restart. Of
course restarting does not fix it. I have tried removing the program and
reinstalling. I only have the upgrade disk so don't know if removal was
complete. I am able to save the doc using "Ctrl-S" etc.

Word 2000 (9.0.6926 SP-3) if that helps

Try deleting and reinstalling the printer driver.
