I know this question was posted earlier this year, but the solution posted
didn't work for me.
The problem is - I am using Office 2007, on Windows Vista. It has been
fine, and all of a sudden, I can no longer use my mouse within Word
Documents. I can't select text, click around the document, right click, or
basically do anything with my mouse. The only way to move around within a
document is by using my arrow keys. Then when I go to close the document it
tells me there is a problem that Windows is trying to fix, and then closes
itself.
The solution posted that didn't work for me (it did work for that person) is
-
"The DataKey MUST be in the registry: it cannot work at all without a
DataKey. You need to find and delete it.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Word\Data "
I followed this step, opened Word again, but same problem. Any ideas? Any
help is much appreciated, Linda.
