Can't use Office Update

I want to update Office 2000 Pro. I don't think it has ever been updated as
the listings in Add/Remove Programs does not show any SRs for Office
Programs. I have WinXP Pro and use Live Update. When I try and use the Office
Update tool I get a pop-up indicating that there is a problem with a file
"ident.cab" "no valid digital signiture" and the search ends. How can I fix
this?
