I'm trying to give co-workers an easy way to backup their Outlook 2003
archives (PST file). I'd like to tell them to use Properties:Send
To:Compressed File to create a smaller version to save on space (we aren't
allowed to keep large files on the server, and CDs are hard to come by for
burning).
However, when I follow those steps, the PST file becomes unrecognizable by
Outlook. After extracting it, the file size is zero, and Outlook will not
import it as a PST file.
Any ideas on why this isn't working? I've seen others recommend zipping PST
files for transfer to a new computer, so it seems that zipping shouldn't
corrupt the file.
We are using Windows XP, Outlook 2003, Windows Zipping Utility.
Thanks!
