Canvas and Xcell

I can copy a graph made in the xcell2004 and paste it to Canvas 8.0 and I was able to edit the graph, i.e., text, increase the line size, etc. However, this feature is disabled in the xcell2008 software. Indeed, you can copy the graph to Canvas 8.0, but the document is NOT EDITABLE. This feature is disabled.

Is there a way on xcel2008 that can enable me to copy a file to a drawing software like canvas, where it retains its full editable capability?

If you save the Excel 2008 document in the new format xlsx (xml format)
then canvas want be able to read it.

IF your not using any of the fancy new features (whatever they are?).
then when you get ready to save document click on *Save As..* wait for
window come up and choose 2003-2007 format. This will save in xls and
Canvas will be able to read.

Not sure it will render what you want - I haven't used Canvas in eons - but
have you tried selecting the chart then holding Shift while you go to the
Edit Menu to select what will now read as the Copy Picture command?
