I am using the Japanese version of Word XP. I recently started using the
trial version of a bibliographic software called Citation 8 from
www.citationonline.net on the advice of a friend. It works fine, but every
time I open up Word or Outlook the error above, 'CAPI Error on wdAddButton:
595' pops up four times. The software also is supposed to install an item to
the Tools menu, but installed two identical items instead. While this is an
annoyance, it also interfers with my ability to synchronize my Palm with
Word. I have written to Citation and was told there is a conflict with
non-European versions of Word and there's no fix on their end, so I chose to
uninstall the software.
Upon uninstalling the software, the items in my tools menu have not
disappeared and the problem remains. I have tried deleting and reinstalling
Office and writing Citation once again, though I have gotten no reply and the
webpage has been down the last few times I've tried to contact them. Even
though I've uninstalled the software, I figure there has to be something that
was left on my computer causing this conflict with Word and was wondering if
anyone knows how I might be able to find it and delete it.
